Good Friday procession or Semana Santa is spiritual procession that usually done by the people in Larantuka, eastern part of Flores. This package is set specially for the Catholics all over the world and very possible as well for foreigners or those from other religions who want to join and involve directly in the procession in Larantuka, where the procession came from the habit of Portuguese people during colonization period in Flores. This tour package held annually for catholics, a mass celebrated together with thousands of pilgrims and other participants from all over the world. In the framework of celebrating Semana Santa Procession, Roland Tour & Travel offers spiritual tour package combined with the tour to other several cultural and tourism places in Flores such as Three Color Lakes of Kelimutu, beaches, villages, and local dancing attraction. Tour usually starts on Monday and finish on Sunday for the next flight where participants will depart according to their plans.

Itinerary       :

Day 01; Ende-Moni (L,D)

Upon groups arrival at H. Hasan Aroeboesman Ende, our guide and driver will be ready to fetch and bring you to Roda Baru restaurant for lunch. Next, it will be a visit to the site of Bung Karno’s house (the first president of Indonesia who was exiled by the Dutch colonial government in the year 1934-1938) and at the same time to visit the Cathedral Church. Then, before your visit to Wologai traditional village to see the traditional houses, the group will stop at Gua Maria Lourdes Detusoko to pray. Arrive in Moni and check in.
 

Day 02; Moni-Kelimutu-Maumere (B,L,D)

The group will depart at 04:30 am early in the morning and be ready for the adventure to Kelimutu National Park with its three colored lakes. Here the group can enjoy the natural beauty of sunrise panorama and the grandeour of three colored lakes about 1-2 hours while pictures and video-taking are best choices to have. Afterwards, going back to hotel for breakfast. Paga beach will be our next trip for some moments of relaxation or swimming before having lunch. Then, a spiritual visit to Gua Maria Lela and Kampung Sikka to admire the old Portuguese church that was built in 16th century (year 1899). Continue to Maumere for check in and accomodation in hotel.
 

Day 03; Maumere Full Day Tour (B,L,D)

After an early breakfast, at 05:45 am we will drive to Ledalero Major Seminary to join the holy mass. And afterwards, visit the SVDs Blikon Blewut museum which collects various fossils and artifacts. Then go to Ritapiret seminary, the place where pope John Paul II had an overnight stay in 1989. Next, make a visit to Nilos 28 m statue of Mother Mary built in 2004 on the altitude of 1.600 m above sea level. Back to Maumere for lunch and make a visit to the statue of Christ the King, then to Wuring village known for its traditional houses where majority occupied by Bajo ethnic who have been there for hundred years and some Bugis people who are fishermen. Mount Egon, an active volcano is the icon of Wuring which undoubtedly worth-seeing for the tour lovers. When it is done, the group will go back to the hotel for some rest and dinner.

Day 04; Maumere-Larantuka (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will leave for Larantuka. Arrive there, check in and relaxing at the hotel. In the afternoon, take a walk and look around where the Catholics in Larantuka make TIKAM TURO by placing the small pole on the right and left side of the road that will be passed during the Good Friday Procession. On those poles will be placed small pieces of bamboo to put candles.

Day 05; Larantuka full day procession of Good Friday

In the morning we will sail to Wure village to pray at the church together with the pilgrims and then back to join the sea procession from Wure village to Larantuka to bring the statue of TUAN MENINO accompanied by prayers and hymns during the procession. Afternoon, at 18.00 pm join the way of the cross procession to commemorate the passion of Christ (the tour participants are suggested to have an early dinner around 17.30 pm) and presummably it will end around 01.00 am. Then back to PRR convent for resting.

Day 06; Larantuka-Maumere (B,L,D)

After breakfast, make a visit to TUAN ANA and TUAN MA church. Then, on the way to Maumere the tour group will visit Watublapi village that is very famous with its Ikat Weaving motifs and also Sanggar Tari Bliran Sina founded in 1988. The tour participants will be shown a number of welcoming dance accompanied by traditional music. Back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07; Maumere-Airport (B)

After breakfast at hotel, the tour group will be fetched according to the arranged time and be accompanied to Frans Seda airport for the next flight based on the departure time. It is the end of tour service in Larantuka with Roland Tour and Travel. Enjoy your flight and have a wonderful time.
